Camera time

I have had a lack of 'writing inspiration' lately.  Lots of topics on my mind, and yet have lacked the motivation to write anything down. February is always a hard month for me. The winter blues I guess! Glad spring is around the corner!

This week I've been picking up my camera instead of the 'pen.'  I'm taking an online photography course to help put a few more 'tools' in my tool belt of photography.  If you've followed along for any length of time you know I like to take pictures...and sometimes they turn out pretty good. So I don't know if this will ever turn into anything to actually pay the bills, but I thought it would be fun to continue to develop this knack- and with my work I never lack subjects to photograph that's for sure.

I'm calling my new photographic endeavor 'karen springs photography' at present.  Really creative right?  Any other ideas?  Spring photo? Oh dear, I've never been good at the whole naming thing.

So far my services are free as I am really just trying to gain experience.  Lately however I seem to be paid in American 'goods'! It helps that my first two 'clients' both have commissary privledges!  What follows is my most recent 'shoot' of my friend Tara's 9-month baby Ellie.  For this shoot I will pick up my payment of American brown sugar tonight when I give her the pictures! (a highly sought commodity here in Kiev).

So here is the little Ellington Pearl in action....
